Casinos Have Record Gain
11 April 2006
RENO, Nevada -- As reported by the Reno Gazette-Journal: "Reno casinos reported $61.3 million in gambling revenue in February, nearly a 10 percent rise from February 2005. Despite the strong gain, the Las Vegas Strip has at least 24 casinos that each do a minimum $10 million more business than all the large casinos in Reno combined, according to the Gaming Control Board.
"Washoe County casinos hit a nine-month streak of revenue growth in February as casinos statewide posted a record for the month, the Gaming Control Board announced Monday.
"Washoe County casinos saw $84.4 million in gambling revenue, 8.7 percent more than February 2005, with both Reno and Sparks reporting near 10 percent gains, the board announced.
"...He said the strong Northern Nevada gambling revenue performance can be attributed to the market absorbing the effects of tribal gaming in Northern California..."

| Agreed, but when casinos get money and more of a profit, its only in certain seasons correct? Like they dont make good money all year round right. |

| casinos make money year-round... there's conventions, sporting events such as boxing and UFC.. they don't count only on individual tourists coming to visit. |

| I have also noticed that casinos always make money because everytime I go to casinos, there are always people around. Those who are 'professionals' have frequented the place almost every night and there are also additionals which are the visitors, the foreigners... |

| the professionals are often there to draw in the tourists who want to live vicariously through watchign them - and drop a few bucks along the way! |
