There are always stories about how people supposedly can tell when someone is bluffing for one reason or another. Whith as common as these stories are, has anyone ever just done these things intentionaly to make people think they are bluffing?

Well a lot of this is countered by the poker shades. So its really hard to determine if their bluffing or not. Alot of it is really on their reputation. But it would never be smart to show your cards after. So that cancels out. But i think the best way to find out is that if their bets suddenly keeps on rising . And on the final "1 on 1" if they bet a disgusting amount, their most likely bluffing.

But that is so typical. Wouldn't someone by now figure out that those classical signs are, or should be, out of date.

Faking tells is not really as easy as you would think. It takes a good actor to be able to do this otherwise you might look a bit stupid and make what you are trying to do obvious. Often the best way to play poker is just to try and keep the same expression on your face as long as possible.
