As in most things poker related, it depends. How much is your stack? What are the blinds? What is your position? What do the other stacks have? Often it is better to go all-in with any two cards (literally) UTG before the blinds get to you then to post them and eat up more of your stack. Without all of the other factors, once you get under 6xBB, it's push and pray time before the blinds get to you, IMO.

I was in a SNG last night where the SS was acting just before me. He just kept folding and folding. Eventually it was down to 4, blinds were 100/200 with 25 antes and he was the SB. He finally raised all-in with about 400 chips. So now I'm looking at a pot of 800 and I only need to call 200 with 35o in the BB. Had he done this move before when he had 1,000 chips, I would have strongly considered folding as I know I'm an underdog and don't feel like risking 800 of my stack. But now it is an easy call with 4:1 odds. He had A9, I spiked a 3 on the turn and won the pot.

I'll agree with the TV statement lol.

The "all in" is NOT a profitable move. It is NOT something you should be sitting at the table thinking "I wish I could get a hand to push with". All In means if you lose you are done, that isn't good. You NEVER want to go all in unless you have to.

Risking all your chips should be reserved for the time you are sure you are a large favorite over your opponent and that they will call. Their are also the "all in" bluffs, but that is a move I don't think should be considered at this time, or only considered in very few situations.

Id never move all in before the flop unless I faced this situation..

I raised, they reraised and if I had pocket aces or kings id push them all in but only with those hands.

If your in a bad situation and short stacked then Id consider moving all in if I had something Like A or K with a decent kicker (9 minimum) and when I say short stacked I mean probably 4 times the big blind and no less.
